Dear Families:

We are up and running! We welcomed 175 ninth graders to thunderous applause from the rest of the school as they walked into the EH Henry gymnasium for their first full assembly. 24 new students have been oriented into 10th–12th grades, and 27 international students have settled into their new surroundings. All in all, we have 750 students for the 2023–2024 school year.

Bulldogs Make It Better
Each year, we select a theme to help guide our learning community toward success. This year, our theme is Bulldogs Make It Better.
  • As a Faculty and staff, we are challenging ourselves not just to be good (or great), but to be better than we have in the past. No complacency!
  • For students, we hope this theme can become a habit of mind, something that encourages continued growth and improvement in all ways. How do I make this paper or project better? How can I participate more fully in class discussion? How do I become a better learner?
  • More broadly, we hope each student challenges themself to be a better teammate, community member, classmate, friend. We each have the possibility to make those around us better – through encouragement, support and even constructive feedback. Are we doing everything we can to help make others better? Are we doing everything we can to make this community better?

A caring, supportive community is BBA’s foundational strength. If you help your child embrace this theme, you will be helping us to become an even better school now and into the future.

Welcome to the 2023–2024 school year. Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Mark H. Tashjian
